A Quick Look at the Changes to the 2024 Mazda CX-30

The 2024 Mazda CX-30 has received a few significant changes for the new model year, making it even more attractive to buyers in the very competitive compact SUV segment.

The new Suna Edition

The 2024 Mazda CX-30 receives a new Suna Edition to go along with the CX-5 and the Mazda 3 Sport. This model distinguishes itself from all of the other CX-30 versions with its unique Zircon Sand paint colour and its exclusive Terracotta leather upholstery. In addition, the Suna Edition CX-30 comes standard with the 2.5L turbocharged Skyactiv engine which is the most dynamic powertrain available in any Mazda model apart from the new CX-90. This engine provides ample power, with an output of 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque when using premium fuel, or 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque on regular-grade fuel. Based on the GT Turbo model, this version comes with all of the features available throughout the CX-30 lineup.

A new standard engine

Other models of the 2024 Mazda CX-30 also receive improvements for the new year, including the entry-level GX version which now benefits from a more powerful and efficient standard engine. Indeed, the naturally aspirated 2.5L Skyactiv engine that was previously found in the GS and GT models has now been extended to the GX as well, replacing the previous 2.0L engine. This brings a new standard output of 191 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, a welcome increase over the previous engine’s 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. In addition, this new engine makes for a more fuel-efficient vehicle due to the inclusion of cylinder deactivation technology which allows it to run on only two cylinders at stabilized speeds.

More technologies

The 2024 Mazda CX-30 also receives a few new technologies that make it more convenient for drivers and passengers, such as an available 10.25-inch infotainment screen that includes touch capabilities when using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the first of which can now be used wirelessly. Additional USB-C charging ports have also been added to various models in the CX-30 lineup in order to make charging electronic devices easier, even without using the available wireless charging pad.
