What There is to Know About Mazda Signature Models

In its effort to move upmarket toward the more premium end of the general-public automotive market, Mazda has added a new top-of-the-line version to some of its more popular models over the last few years: the Signature. Here is a brief look at this trim level and what it has to offer.

A complete list of standard equipment

Of course, being placed at the top of the Mazda lineup of trim levels, Signature versions come standard with every feature that Mazda has to offer, such as a more powerful turbocharged engine, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a color head-up display system, a full range of i-activsense driver assistance features such as forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and autonomous braking, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and road sign recognition, and the advanced Traffic Jam Assist, to name a few.

Unique Signature touches

In order to differentiate themselves from the already well-equipped GT trim level, the Signature models benefit from unique touches that are not found in any other Mazda models, such as body-colour wheel arch cladding, exclusive colours for the Nappa leather upholstery, chromed exhaust tips, unique wheel designs, genuine wood accents throughout the cabin, satin chrome accents on the power seat controls and glovebox lever, as well as exclusive stitching on some models.

Which models offer a Signature trim level?

In 2024, two Mazda models can be ordered in the Signature grade: The CX-5 and the new CX-90. In the first case, this model builds upon the GT version with most of the features listed above, including the dynamic 2.5L turbocharged Skyactiv four-cylinder engine that generates an output of 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque, giving the CX-5 the power it needs to compare with premium-branded compact SUVs that cost much more. The other model that can be had in Signature form, the 2024 Mazda CX-90 MHEV, pushes the Signature package even further. Indeed, this model benefits from additional work compared to the CX-5 Signature due to its status as the flagship of the Mazda lineup, which is why it gets treated to elements such as decorative stitched cloth inserts on the instrument panel, ventilated second-row seats, diamond-cut 21-inch alloy wheels, and the most powerful variant of the all-new 3.3L turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine introduced in the CX-90 earlier this year.
